Mission Statement

At Scarborough DPC we believe in putting patients first. We believe in taking the time — time to listen, to understand and to meet patient needs. Such time is scarce in the traditional insurance-based system that values quantity over quality, and that diverts a physician’s focus away from patient care with its heavy administrative burden.

Direct primary care is an innovative alternative. For a low monthly fee, you get comprehensive primary care services when you need it from a doctor who serves you —not the insurance companies or big health organizations. No surprise fees. No long wait to see your doctor. No rushed 8 minute visits.

Instead, you receive simplified, personal and premium healthcare from a doctor who knows you. Welcome to Scarborough Direct Primary Care!

Dr. Sarah Alvarez

How It Works

For a flat monthly membership fee, you get direct access to your doctor, comprehensive primary healthcare and basic urgent care services. Our smaller patient panel cultivates a lasting and stronger physician-patient relationship over time so that you get personalized care from a doctor that knows and understands you well. No insurance needed. And you can cancel at any time.

About Dr. Alvarez

I moved to Maine over 12 years ago. Opening my own medical practice in Scarborough is my way of contributing to the community where my family lives, plays and grows. I love the many conveniences in our town, the daily interactions between familiar faces as we go about our routines. My practice strives for that same ease and warm familiarity— I offer clinical excellence with modern technology that is convenient and affordable; that feels personal and reliable. I believe this is how medicine should be delivered and I am honored to have the opportunity to finally practice this way!
